Paperwork, a necessary hassle

Paperwork. Nobody loves filling out paperwork, but sometimes it has to be done. There are plenty of reasons why it’s a good idea to fill in the blanks, but the most important one is this: We’re not going to seat you in a dental chair until the paperwork is filled out.

To the average person, the answers given on paperwork can be mundane and at times repetitive. To us, it just might be information that can save your life. Maybe you’re on a medication that might complicate a routine procedure. Well, that’s a detail that’s good to know. There are policies, information, rights that the office needs to know patients have read and understand. It’s not only our obligation to ensure our patients are informed but our legal duty.

If you are a first-time patient, give yourself some time — about 15 minutes — to fill out all the paperwork. We can also mail you the forms, but still arrive on the early side just in case something’s missing. After that, it will be the rare occasion that we need you to fill out additional forms.
